2008 ~ 2nd Trappers Banquet

Eric Orff on Global Warming
The New Hampshire Trappers Association held its Second Annual Building Fund Banquet on February 8, 2008 at the Cat and Fiddle Restaurant in Concord. The 100 tickets available were sold out and all who attended had a great time. Our special thanks to Steve Bennett the event coordinator for pulling off such a fine meal, program and successful fund raiser. There were a significant number of very fine donations provided by those who support the larger meaning behind all that the NHTA represents. These donations of items for raffles or gifts are sincerely appreciated as well as the funds that were ultimately raised from those who purchased raffles and bought tickets in a collective demonstration of continued support for NHTA. Eric Orff, the well know and recently retired furbearer biologist was the keynote speaker on the subject of Global Warming and Climate Change. Eric is a classic example of a Sportsman/Conservationist who is able to effectively communicate the sportsman's perspective when expressing our collective concern for conservation or environmental issues. Miss New Hampshire, Rachel Barker, was a guest of the NHTA and helped out considerably throughout the evening as the Program proceeded. We would especially like to thank the gun smith Brad Marshall for donating one of the guns and providing the remaining guns at very favorable rates for this event. There were also anonymous members who purchased and donated guns for this event. All in all the trappers and a larger community of supporters joined together for this worthy cause, sat down for a fine meal, and enjoyed each others company. What was once, just an idea, is now established in its second year as regular event that shall persist until the NHTA has met its goal and can have property with a building to have its meetings, stage events, and store or display its history and heritage. Thank you to all who participated in this effort or attended the event.
