New Hampshire Trappers Association
This 4 x 5" document with 96 pages was a three part
booklet functioning as a trappers guide, supply catalog, and a
compilation of game laws for all the states, provinces, and territories
of North America. We owe much thanks to Harris Ilsley of Weare NH for
lending us this snapshot of trapping history as it was in 1912.

regulations for the era. In 1912 the habitat was so destroyed
for beaver that few remained and those received total protection.
Habitat destruction through poor forestry practices and long harvest
seasons on furbearers remaining in diminishing pockets of habitat
would eventually lead to closed seasons for many species. In 1912
trapping was considered just another type of hunting with the common
license for both at $1.
