We are not presently sure when NHF&G began to print law booklets. Perhaps one of our viewers will contact us with that information and perhaps have a copy of the original booklet to share. In recent times both Hunting and Trapping regulations were both included at least up to the 94-95 season and perhaps the 95-96 season but definitely not in the 96-97 season and beyond. These booklets are not only valuable as collectors items with beautiful artwork on the cover of each issue, but are time capsules reflecting their respective era when compared to the distant past or the present. The changes in the regulated seasons, and season limits, along with considerable information included says a lot about the condition of furbearer populations and the successful utilization of controlled and regulated harvest of surplus animals to manage and enhance wildlife populations in synergy with the ever changing habitat dynamics. The NH Trappers Association laments that the trapping regulations are no longer displayed together with the hunting regulations in one law booklet as the loss of awareness and understanding of our activities amongst the larger outdoor community is not to our collective advantage, and so we advocate for the return of this practice at some future time.
