
The unveiling ceremony took place at the Gardner
Memorial Wayside Park which is the access point for the
Butterfield Pond Trail and is within the John F. Gile State
Forest.

Shown here is the special trailer designed and built to
transport and display the "Forever Locked
"display. Many of the decals of the businesses or organizations
that supported this project are displayed on the exterior of
this platform.

The rear view of the display trailer has a very
prominent decal for the First Colebrook Bank as their logo
happens to be a moose. When the President of the Conservation
Officers Relief Association, CO Wayne Saunders, approached the
President of First Colebrook early in the project the bank
president presented the project with a check for $5000 which had
the effect of working wonders when so early in an all volunteer
and contributor effort.

Conservation Officer John Wimsatt of Northwood NH has
been the project leader since it's inception in October 2003.
During this formal unveiling ceremony Officer Wimsatt presented
the history of the project, introduced the various speakers of
the day, and identified various individuals in the audience who
were critical to the projects success. CO Wimsatt also thanked
all the individuals, businesses, and organizations which
participated in this extraordinary project by providing funds or
other services.

An enduring brass plaque in the shape of the New
Hampshire state map was on display. Engraved on this historical
treasure is a list of all the Sponsors who contributed $500 or
more to the project.

A beautiful wooden display which utilizes individual
brass tags to recognize project Donors that contributed $250-499
was available to show appreciation.

grateful to Ray Deragon, the sportsman who found the locked
antlers and started it all.
